Professor Ann-Christine Syvänen, Uppsala University / Dept. of Medical Sciences, The Research Group of Molecular Medicine, Research dept. II / University Hospital, S-751 85 Uppsala, SWEDEN
Syvänen and co-workers have pioneered the minisequencing method, which is widely used in large-scale SNP-genotyping. The group develops new approaches for utilizing SNPs, e.g. quantitative genotyping on microarrays, and uses them for applications in Molecular Medicine.
A technology platform providing HTP SNP genotyping services to academic researchers has been established. Syvänen's group will contribute to the NCoEDG with technical expertise, including applied bioinformatics and database technology, and SNP genotyping services at marginal reagent costs.
