| The Nordic Centre of Excellence in Disease Genetics (NCoEDG) launched a new call for 3~4 postdoctoral and PhD fellowships in different Nordic countries.
Closing Date: June 15, 2007 COMPLETE CALL CONTENT and APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS LIST OF RESEARCH PROJECTS APPLICATION FORM The aim of the fellowship programme is to enhance visibility and attractiveness of Nordic research in disease genetics in a European and global context, and to foster interaction, collaboration and mobility (of young scientists in particular) between NCoE-DG groups as well as with other Nordic research groups. Fellowships of one to two years in length will be awarded. The fellowships will include salary plus fringe benefits. The salary, fringe benefits and employment scheme varies among Nordic centres and will follow the general regulations of each host institute. Applicants are expected to start as soon as possible and no later than December 2007. In the application, each applicant should identify at least one individual NCoEDG PI who matches his/her research interests as the supervisor. To promote Nordic collaboration, the project should preferentially be co-supervised by another NCoEDG PI or PI from other Nordic research groups . Such collaborative projects initiated by PIs or applicants are especially encouraged in the current Call as 'Added value through Nordic Collaboration' is one of the key evaluation criteria. Please refer to the LIST of NCoEDG PIs and brief description of their research topics attached in the end of the call. In particular, applicants for postdoctoral positions are strongly recommended to contact PI(s) of interests to discuss the research topics before submission. For postdoctoral application, a letter of acceptance should be enclosed in the application as supporting materials. NCoEDG is in the framework of the Nordic Centre of Excellence Programme in Molecular Medicine, a joint venture between the Joint Committee of the Nordic Medical Research Councils (NOS-M), the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Research Board (NordForsk). Eligibility NCoEDG follows guidelines of the Nordic Centre of Excellence Programme in Molecular Medicine as well as general requirements of participating institutes. -- Applicants can be currently affiliated with Nordic or NCoEDG research groups but they CANNOT continue in the same group -- Applicants for postdoctoral positions are not limited to Nordic citizens -- Applicants for postdoctoral are expected to receive his/her PhD diploma award before the beginning of the fellowship period -- PhD students should be from the Nordic countries (but NOT the country of residence of the recruiting research team/unit) Applications Each application should include: -- The completed Application Form -- An up-to date Curriculum Vitae (one page) including details of academic/research record and a list of publications. Reprints of up to three representative publications can be enclosed. -- A cover letter (one page) clearly indicating which type of fellowships is applied for. Names of the people providing recommendation letters should also be included. -- Recommendation letters directly sent by two references via email to Huei-yi Shen. -- Other supporting materials (less than two pages) such as letter of acceptance from PI(s) whom applicants' have contacted (for postdoctoral applications, the letter of acceptance is compulsory).
