Prof. Leif Andersson, Dept. of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology, Uppsala university, Uppsala, Biomedical Center, Box 597, SE-751 24 Uppsala, SWEDEN
The Andersson group has done pioneering work using farm animals for genetic dissection of monogenic and multifactorial traits. The group has generated several large intercrosses between phenotypically divergent populations of farm animals such as the wild boar and domestic pigs. These intercross populations have been phenotypically and genetically characterised. For the NCoEDG, the group contributes these biological resources and their expertise in the genetic analysis of multifactorial traits.
